Estudio de inversión para un remolcador TIER III respecto a TIER II

Abstract

En este trabajo se muestra el proceso selectivo y argumentado de un tipo de tecnología para equipar de un determinado tipo de motor térmico para emplearlo en la propulsión de un buque remolcador de nueva construcción que, tiene que ser capaz de desarrollar remoques de puerto y altura, por lo que debe ser polivalente y con gran autonomía respecto de otro tipo alternativas similares en cuanto a potencia y tamaño, tratando de ser lo más eficiente en términos de emisiones y consumos. Para ello primeramente tendremos en cuenta, que problemáticas actuales tenemos en el sector marítimo, en cuanto a contaminación atmosférica, porque es tan importante para las personas y porque este problema lleva concatenado una serie de requerimientos por parte de la IMO (Organización Marítima Internacional), por otra parte, veremos que alternativas tenemos y porque nos inclinamos por un tipo de combustible, respecto de otros. Para finalmente calcular cuánto tiempo necesitamos según el tipo de trabajo a desarrollar, ya sea realizando labor de remolque portuario o realizando remolques de altura, para compensar la diferencia de precio de un tipo de motor, respecto de los actualmente operados por la flota. Para que, de esta forma, nuestros remolcadores realicen su función tanto en remolques portuarios, como remolque de altura, teniendo una gran autonomía y siendo sostenible tanto en términos ambientales como económicos, cumpliendo con todos los requisitos actuales y futuros.

This work presents the selective and reasoned process of a type of technology for equipping a specific type of thermal engine to be used in the propulsion of a newly constructed tugboat. This tugboat needs to be capable of performing harbor and long-distance towing, making it versatile and with a high degree of autonomy compared to other similar alternative options in terms of power and size. The goal is to strive for maximum efficiency in terms of emissions and fuel consumption. To achieve this, we will first consider the current issues present in the maritime sector concerning atmospheric pollution. We will delve into why addressing this problem is crucial for the well-being of people and how it leads to a series of requirements from the International Maritime Organization (IMO). On the other hand, we will explore the alternatives available and the reasons behind our preference for a specific type of fuel over others. Finally, we will calculate the necessary time based on the type of work to be undertaken, whether it involves harbor towing or long-distance towing. This calculation aims to offset the price difference of the chosen engine type compared to those currently in operation within the fleet. In this way, our tugboats will effectively carry out their functions in both harbor and long-distance towing operations. They will possess extensive autonomy while remaining environmentally and economically sustainable, thus meeting all current and future requirements.
