Historia del sector hotelero español

Abstract

Debido a la gran cantidad de beneficios socioeconómicos que proporciona el sector turístico a nuestro país, he decidido realizar una recopilación bibliográfica sobre la historia del sector, analizando de forma transversal las diferentes características, los contextos geopolíticos, económicos y socioculturales en los que ha estado inmerso nuestro país. En primer lugar, vamos a reconocer la importancia del sector analizando el tejido empresarial de nuestro país. Las siguientes líneas de actuación se basan en realizar un recorrido histórico de la industria hotelera hasta el siglo XX para dar paso al inicio de la hotelería moderna en España. Todas las actuaciones que la industria hotelera ha llevado a cabo han sido posible gracias a la legislación hotelera de nuestro país. Una vez recopilada la historia del sector a nivel nacional, me voy a centrar en la breve historia de la hotelería en lo que a Cantabria se refiere y en las asociaciones sectoriales y organismos representativos del sector turístico español. Como último punto a tratar hablaré de cómo ha afectado la COVID-19 al turismo en nuestro país. Finalmente, muestro las conclusiones a las que he llegado a través de esta recopilación bibliográfica.

Due to the large number of socioeconomic benefits that the tourism sector provides to our country, I have decided to carry out a bibliographic compilation on the history of the sector, analyzing in a transversal way the different characteristics, the geopolitical, economic and sociocultural contexts in which our country has been immersed. First of all, we are going to recognize the importance of the sector by analyzing the business fabric of our country. The following lines of action are based on taking a historical tour of the hotel industry until the 20th century to give way to the beginning of modern hospitality in Spain. All the actions that the hotel industry has carried out have been possible thanks to the hotel legislation of our country. Once the history of the sector at a national level has been compiled, I am going to focus on the brief history of the hotel industry as far as Cantabria is concerned and on the sectoral associations and representative organizations of the Spanish tourism sector. As the last point to discuss, I will talk about how COVID-19 has affected tourism in our country. Finally, I show the conclusions I have reached through this bibliographic compilation.
