Política y literatura en España durante la década de 1930

Abstract

En este trabajo se analizará la relación que establecieron los escritores e intelectuales españoles con la política durante la década de 1930. Para la realización de este análisis se ha tomado como referencia y punto de partida la división generada durante la Guerra Civil española en el mundo de la cultura. No obstante, también se analizará la trayectoria previa de estos escritores e intelectuales al considerar que, en muchos casos, esta resulta clave para entender su posicionamiento durante el conflicto. En este trabajo se hablará de la aportación a la política española de estos escritores, mediante su obra literaria, sus actitudes o incluso, sus declaraciones y entrevistas, y de cómo la política afectó a su obra. En primer lugar, abordando a aquellos que fueron leales a la República. En segundo lugar, a quienes apoyaron el golpe de Estado del 18 de julio de 1936. Y, en último lugar, a aquellos que no apoyaron claramente a ningún bando durante la contienda, y que pertenecen a lo que se ha venido a llamar la “Tercera España”, término que está sujeto a debate entre los historiadores de la literatura.

This work will analyze the relationship established by Spanish writers and intellectuals with politics during the 1930s. To carry out this analysis, the division during the Spanish Civil War in the world of culture has been taken as a reference and starting point. However, the previous trajectory of these writers and intellectuals will also be analyzed considering that, in many cases, this is key to understanding their position during the conflict. This work will discuss the contribution to Spanish politics of these writers, through their literary work, their attitudes or even their statements and interviews, and how politics affected their work. First of all, by addressing those who were loyal to the Republic. Secondly, to those who supported the coup d'état of July 18, 1936. And, lastly, to those who did not clearly support either side during the war, and who belong to what has come to be called the "Third Spain", a term that is subjected to debate among literary historians.
