Análisis de supervivencia a corto y largo plazo del hepatocarcinoma tratado mediante resección o trasplante hepático

Abstract

El carcinoma hepatocelular es el tumor hepático primario más frecuente. Constituye la tercera causa de muerte por neoplasia y la primera en pacientes cirróticos. En estadios precoces está indicado el tratamiento con intención curativa incluyendo cirugía (resección hepática o trasplante hepático) o técnicas ablativas. La resección hepática se considera de elección en el tratamiento de lesiones tumorales sobre hígados no cirróticos. El trasplante hepático se considera el tratamiento curativo por excelencia resolviendo simultáneamente tanto la enfermedad tumoral como la enfermedad de base. En el presente estudio se analiza y compara la mortalidad, recidiva, supervivencia global, específica y libre de enfermedad, de los pacientes con carcinoma hepatocelular tratados mediante resección hepática o trasplante hepático en un hospital de tercer nivel durante 10 años.

Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common primary liver tumor. It is the third cause of death from neoplasia and the first in cirrhotic patients. In early stages, curative treatment is indicated, including surgery (liver resection or liver transplantation) or ablative techniques. Liver resection is the treatment of choice for tumor lesions in non-cirrhotic livers. In cirrhotic patients, liver transplantation is preferred due to its resolution of both tumor disease and the underlying disease. In the present study, mortality, recurrence, overall, specific and disease-free survival of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma treated by liver resection or liver transplantation are analyzed and compared along 10 years in a tertiary referral hospital.
