Arte y poder: el patronazgo artístico de las últimas reinas Trastámara

Abstract

Las cuatro hijas de los Reyes Católicos jugaron un papel clave en la política internacional de sus padres, consiguiendo alianzas con tres de las mayores cortes europeas de la época a través del matrimonio de las jóvenes con los herederos de dichos reinos e imperios. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el papel que estas reinas consortes jugaron en el arte de la época a través del patrocinio artístico realizado alrededor de sus figuras o, especialmente, aquel realizado por ellas.

The four daughters of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain played a key rol in their parents’ international relationships, granting them political alliances with three of the most important European courts of their time through their marriage to the heirs of said realms and empires. The focus of this paper lies in analyzing the roles of these queens consort in the developing and making of art through the artistic patronage done in their regard or by themselves, paying special attention to the last.
