Análisis de la desigualdad de género en Colombia: Un estudio para el periodo 2005-2019

Abstract

RESUMEN: El fin de la pobreza y la igualdad de género constituyen dos de los objetivos de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible. Es cierto que podemos observar avances hacia una igualdad entre hombres y mujeres, pero, aun así, siguen existiendo importantes barreras que impiden fortalecer la figura de las mujeres y que obstaculizan sus derechos humanos. Para poder estudiar dichas disparidades, se utilizan diferentes instrumentos de medida, con la finalidad de reducir los obstáculos que impiden que la sociedad sea equitativa.

El presente trabajo tiene como propósito realizar un análisis sobre la situación tanto económica como social de las mujeres colombianas a nivel rural, urbano y nacional. Para ello, se calculará un índice de desigualdad de género tomando como base la metodología del índice del Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo y considerando como dimensiones el empleo, la educación y la salud para los años 2005, 2008, 2015 y 2019. Para poder realizar dicho análisis, tomaremos como herramientas, las bases de datos y las publicaciones estadísticas de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe y del Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística de Colombia. Este estudio de desigualdad nos permitirá aproximarnos a las causas que generan contextos de pobreza para la mujer en Colombia.

ABSTRACT: The end of poverty and gender equality are two of the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It is true that we can see progress towards equality between men and women, but even so, there are still significant barriers that prevent women from being strengthened and that hinder their human rights. To study these disparities, different measurement instruments are used, in order to reduce the obstacles that prevent society from being equitable.

The aim of this paper is to conduct an analysis of the economic and social situation of Colombian women at the rural, urban and national levels. To do this, a gender inequality index will be calculated based on the methodology of the United Nations Development Program index and considering employment, education, and health as dimensions, based on socioeconomic variables for the years 2005, 2008, 2015 and 2019. In order to carry out this analysis, we will use the databases and statistical publications of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean and the National Administrative Department of Statistics of Colombia. This study of inequality will allow to approach the causes that generate contexts of poverty for women in Colombia.
