Los beneficios de la enseñanza de ajedrez en el ámbito educativo: Una revisión sistemática

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente trabajo, realizado para la asignatura final del Trabajo Final del Máster del Profesorado, consiste en una revisión bibliográfica de los estudios recientes que estudian los efectos beneficiosos que pueden tener las intervenciones educativas relacionadas con la enseñanza del ajedrez. El trabajo pretende servir de herramienta para que un docente pueda formarse una opinión acerca de la enseñanza del ajedrez. Para ello se explican: la historia del juego; la situación actual del ajedrez en la educación, tanto en el mundo como en España; el proceso de la transferencia; el uso tradicional del ajedrez como recurso de investigación en psicología; y las principales investigaciones educativas relacionadas con el ajedrez. No se realiza un análisis estadístico de los resultados dadas las limitaciones del trabajo. Los resultados de la revisión muestran resultados mayoritariamente positivos acerca de la enseñanza del ajedrez, pero la existencia de resultados contradictorios de gran entidad demanda la realización de nuevos estudios con diseños más exigentes para confirmar los mismos. Se puede concluir que el ajedrez es una buena herramienta para mejorar las habilidades cognitivas y socioemocionales de los estudiantes.

ABSTRACT: The present work, carried out for the final subject of the Final Project of the Teacher's Master's Degree, consists of a bibliographic review of recent studies that study the beneficial effects that educational interventions related to the teaching of chess can have. The work aims to serve as a tool for a teacher to form an opinion about the teaching of chess. To do this, they explain: the history of the game; the current situation of chess in education, both in the world and in Spain; the transfer process; the traditional use of chess as a research resource in psychology; and major educational research related to chess. A statistical analysis of the results is not performed given the limitations of the work. The results of the review show mostly positive results about the teaching of chess, but the existence of contradictory results of great importance demands the realization of new studies with more demanding designs to confirm them. It can be concluded that chess is a good tool to improve students' cognitive and socio-emotional skills.
