Estudio de la percepción y conductas medioambientales del alumnado de Educación Secundaria y Bachillerato con relación al cambio climático.

Abstract

RESUMEN La crisis climática y la preservación del medio ambiente son problemas actuales de carácter urgente, cuya evolución depende de la acción inmediata por parte de toda la población a nivel mundial. La educación resulta un elemento clave para fomentar la sensibilización sobre esta problemática. Este trabajo tiene por objetivo evaluar la conciencia medioambiental y el comportamiento ecológico del alumnado de Educación Secundaria mediante el estudio de su nivel de conocimiento sobre el cambio climático, la viabilidad de un futuro sostenible y la percepción sobre sus conductas cotidianas. Para ello, se realizó un estudio dirigido a los alumnos/as de Educación Secundaria del Colegio Calasanz (Santander, España). Los resultados muestran que una mayoría del alumnado se muestra concienciado por el cambio climático, aunque una gran parte no tiene información suficiente sobre sus consecuencias. El objetivo de este trabajo es resaltar la necesidad de incluir contenidos en materia medioambiental de forma curricular para fomentar la concienciación medioambiental de los estudiantes. Como conclusión, tras el análisis de los resultados iniciales obtenidos mediante una encuesta, se propone una propuesta de mejora didáctica sobre cambio climático desde la perspectiva de la Química Ambiental, incluida en la asignatura de Física y Química de 1º de Bachillerato.

ABSTRACT The climate change and the preservation of the environment are nowadays global issues of main concern. Education is a key element to promote the consciousness about this environmental problem. The present work aims to evaluate the environmental awareness and ecological behaviour of Secondary Education students by the analysis of their level of knowledge about the impact of climate change, and the evaluation of their perception of routine behaviour in terms of sustainability. For this purpose, a study has been addressed to students from a Secondary School (Colegio Calasanz) from Santander, Spain. The results show that most of the students are aware of climate change, although a large part still does not have enough information about its consequences. The main goal of this work is to highlight the need for inclusion of environmental contents in the educational curriculum to promote the environmental consciousness of the students. As a conclusion, and after analysis of the results of the inquiry, this work suggests a didactical proposal about climate change from the perspective of Environmental Chemistry, included in the subject of Physics and Chemistry of 1st year of Baccalaureate.
