Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior y Geografía: la importancia de la formación en competencias y la empleabilidad

Abstract

RESUMEN. En el presente artículo se abordan los cambios e implicaciones del EEES y los retos futuros que para los estudios de Geografía tendrá la convergencia de la universidad española en el mismo, insistiendo en la idea de que la formación en competencias y la empleabilidad se convertirán en los factores clave para la definitiva consolidación de nuestra disciplina. El artículo combina perspectivas generales sobre el EEES con el análisis de sus consecuencias para la titulación y concluye afirmando que la Geografía debe aprovechar la oportunidad que el proceso de convergencia con Europa ofrece para seguir desarrollándose no solo como disciplina académica y científica sino también profesionalmente y como ciencia aplicada.

ABSTRACT. In the present article there are analized the changes and implications of the EEES and the future challenges that for the studies of Geography there will have the convergence of the Spanish university in the same one, insisting on the idea of that the formation in competences and the empleability will turn into the key factors for the definitive consolidation of our discipline. The article combines general perspectives on the EEES with the analysis of his consequences for the qualifications and ends up by affirming that that the Geography must make use of the opportunity that the process of convergence with Europe offers to keep on developing not only as academic and scientific discipline but also professionally as applied science.
