La mujer en el siglo XIX español: el arquetipo femenino y el desafío a la moral burguesa

Abstract

RESUMEN La supeditación de la mujer al hombre a lo largo de los siglos, la disparidad de funciones atribuidas a cada uno de ellos en concordancia a su sexo y los discursos difundidos en la sociedad a fin de mantener el orden patriarcal establecido han desatado, desde los años 80 del siglo pasado, un enorme interés historiográfico, algo que se acentúa cuando atendemos a la Historia Cultural escrita por mujeres. Con el foco en el siglo XIX español, en el siguiente trabajo se hará un balance de la situación de la mujer española y se presentará un análisis de casos particulares que, de una u otra manera, transgredieron la norma. El caso de Emilia Pardo Bazán será analizado pormenorizadamente debido al impacto que tuvo su obra en el feminismo desarrollado en el siglo XX.

ABSTRACT The subordination of women to men throughout the centuries, the disparity of functions attributed to each of them in accordance with their sex and the discourses spread in society in order to maintain the established patriarchal order have unleashed, since the years 80 of the last century, a huge historiographical interest, something that is accentuated when we look at Cultural History written by women. With the focus on the Spanish 19th century, in the following work a balance will be made of the situation of Spanish women and an analysis of particular cases will be presented, women who, in one way or another, transgressed the norm. The case of Emilia Pardo Bazán will be analyzed in detail due to the impact her work had on feminism developed in the 20th century.
