La persecución de Decio (250 d.C.) Estudio de los Libelli

Abstract

RESUMEN: El siguiente Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene el propósito de analizar el estado de la cuestión sobre las persecuciones a las que fueron sometidos los cristianos durante el mandato del emperador Trajano Decio (249-251), la primera que tuvo un alcance general. Para ello se analizan, en primer lugar, las causas de las persecuciones y la situación de los cristianos bajo los gobiernos de los emperadores previos a Decio. Se estudia después la figura de Decio, analizando su llegada al poder, las posibles motivaciones que le llevaron a emitir el edicto y las características de la persecución. Se analizan finalmente los certificados de sacrificio o libelli, la fuente más importante de la época sobre la persecución.

ABSTRACT: Tis Final Degree Project (TFG) aims to analyse the state of the art on the persecutions to which Christians were subjected during the rule of the emperor Trajan Decius (249-251), the first one to have a general scope. To this end, the causes of the persecutions and the situation of Christians under the governments of the emperors before Decius are analysed first. The reigne of Decius is then studied, analysing his rise to power, the possible motivations that led him to issue the edict and the characteristics of the persecution. It then goes on to analyse the certificates of sacrifice or libelli, the most important source of the period on the persecution.
