Emigración, integración y Agencia femenina al final del Antiguo Régimen: las mujeres en la experiencia ilustrada de las Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena y Andalucía

Abstract

RESUMEN Las Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena y Andalucía creadas a partir de 1767, bajo el reinado de Carlos III de Borbón, cuentan con una amplia historiografía que ha permitido el estudio en profundidad del papel que la mujer colona ocupó en esta nueva sociedad agraria para poder determinar el grado de integración y agencia femenina que se dio en la empresa repobladora y colonizadora más importante del siglo XVIII. Para ello, a través de distintas temáticas como la inmigración, el mundo del trabajo, el ocio, las costumbres, la propiedad de la tierra y finalmente los conflictos sociales, hemos podido ahondar en el estudio de la mujer y la vida cotidiana de éstas en un espacio fuertemente agrarizado y controlado por el hombre. Esto no significa que la mujer no encontrara distintas formas para alcanzar una integración plena en las Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena, objeto del presente estudio

ABSTRACT The New Settlements of Sierra Morena and Andalusia created from 1767 onwards, under the reign of Charles III of Bourbon, have an extensive historiography that has allowed us to study in depth the role that women colonists played in this new agrarian society in order to determine the degree of integration and female agency that took place in the most important repopulating and colonising enterprise of the 18th century. To this end, through different themes such as immigration, the world of work, leisure, customs, land ownership and finally social conflicts, we have been able to delve into the study of women and their daily life in a strongly agrarianised and male-controlled space. This does not mean that women did not find different ways to achieve full integration in the Nuevas Poblaciones de Sierra Morena, the subject of this study.
