Abstract

RESUMEN Con este estudio que versa sobre el contrabando en la Cantabria de la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII se pretende comprender mejor el fenómeno en su esfera político-económica y socio-cultural. También, y con el fin de indagar en el estudio de las redes, se han intentado entender las razones y motivaciones que provocaron que ciertos grupos de personas de diferentes estratos y condiciones sociales coordinasen sus fuerzas para poder alcanzar unas metas comunes. Por ello, se ha abordado la temática atendiendo al espacio en el que se produce el fraude, los perfiles tanto de compradores como de vendedores, los materiales implicados y las redes de contrabando

ABSTRACT With this study, which deals with smuggling in Cantabria in the second half of the 18th century, the aim is to understand better this phenomenon in its politicaleconomic and socio-cultural sphere. Also, and in order to inquire the study of networks, has been made an attempt to understand the reasons and motivations that caused certain groups of people from different stratus and social conditions to coordinate their forces in order to achieve common goals. For this reason, the subject has been approached taking attending the space in which the fraud occurs, the profiles of both buyers and sellers, the materials involved and the smuggling networks
