Photodynamic Therapy is a treatment modality based in biological material oxidation by using a photosensitizer and light. Treatment outcome with topical photosensitizers depends on the uneven distribution of drug through the tumour region and several studies have demonstrated the huge influence of corneal layer in the amount of photosensitizer accumulated in tumour tissue during the incubation period. In this work we present a PDT model for a topical photosensitizer that tries to predict the photodynamic effect on skin characterized by the permeability of the diffusion barrier layer exerted by the corneal layer. The results obtained allow us to estimate the citotoxicity reached in the treated area adjusting parameters related to the optical source, the photosensitizer concentration, the incubation and exposition time or the diffusivity and permeability of the damaged tissue.es_ES
