El conflicto entre árabes e israelíes: de los orígenes a los acuerdos de Camp David (1880-1979)

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente TFG trata sobre el desarrollo del conflicto árabe-israelí centrándose sobre todo en el período comprendido desde la creación del Estado de Israel en 1948 hasta el Acuerdo de Paz entre Israel y Egipto de 1979. Para tener un mejor conocimiento de este conflicto, se explican además sus orígenes, desde 1880, a partir del comienzo del sionismo como movimiento político. En él se analiza el inicio de la emigración judía a Palestina, la respuesta por parte de la población árabe local, la actuación de las potencias coloniales y, tras la creación del Estado de Israel, se comenta el desarrollo de ambas comunidades y las cuatro guerras entre árabes e israelíes de 1948, 1956, 1967 y 1973, junto al papel ejercido por Estados Unidos y la Unión Soviética en el marco de la Guerra Fría. Finaliza con un acontecimiento no bélico como es la cumbre de Camp David y el Tratado de Paz entre Egipto e Israel que le siguió.

ABSTRACT: The present TFG is about the development of the Arab-Israeli conflict and focuses specially on the period from the creation of the State of Israel in 1948 until the 1979 Israel-Egypt Peace Agreement. In order to have a better understanding of this conflict, the origins, since 1880, are also explained, starting from the beginning of Zionism as a movement. It analyzes the beginning of Jewish emigration to Palestine, the response of the local Arab population, the actions of the colonial powers and, after the creation of the State of Israel, it comments on the development of both communities and the four wars between Arabs and Israelis in 1948, 1956, 1967 and 1973, together with the role played by the United States and the Soviet Union within the framework of the Cold War. It ends with a non war event such as the Camp David summit and the Peace Treaty between Egypt and Israel that followed.
