Inyectables periuretrales en la incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo

Abstract

RESUMEN : La incontinencia urinaria de esfuerzo (IUE) es una patología muy prevalente entre las mujeres que presentan debilidad a nivel de los músculos del suelo pélvico y, además, constituye una dolencia muy estigmatizada que limita mucho la calidad de vida de quienes la padecen. Hace años, las cintas vaginales sin tensión eran la opción de tratamiento más válida para estas pacientes, pero recientemente han surgido nuevas alternativas menos invasivas y más cómodas, como los inyectables periuretrales, consolidándose como una de las opciones más demandadas, ya que es mínimamente invasiva y permite abordar esta patología minimizando los efectos secundarios. En este trabajo se describen detalladamente ambas opciones de tratamiento, concretamente el hidrogel de poliacrilamida Bulkamid® y las cintas de uretropexia transobturadoras KIM®. Finalmente, y tras un periodo de seguimiento, hemos comparado los resultados de ambas técnicas en un número seleccionado de pacientes del Hospital Universitario Marqués de Valdecilla (HUMV), especificando la tasa de curación objetiva y subjetiva de cada tratamiento, así como los beneficios, complicaciones e indicaciones de cada uno de ellos.

ABSTRACT : Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a very prevalent pathology among women who present weakness at the level of the pelvic floor muscles and, in addition, it constitutes a highly stigmatized ailment that greatly limits the quality of life of those who suffer from it. Years ago, tension-free vaginal tapes were the most valid treatment option for these patients, but recently new less invasive and more comfortable alternatives have emerged, such as periurethral injectables, consolidating as one of the most demanded options, since It is minimally invasive and allows this pathology to be addressed while minimizing side effects. In this work, both treatment options are described in detail, specifically the Bulkamid® polyacrylamide hydrogel and the KIM® transobturator urethropexy tapes. Finally, and after a follow-up period, we have compared the results of both techniques in a selected number of patients at the Marques of Valdecilla University Hospital (HUMV), specifying the objective and subjective cure rate of each treatment, as well as the benefits, complications and indications from each of them.
