Estudio de prevalencia, características y evolución de los pacientes con amiloidosis cardiaca por transtiretina en Cantabria, desde el año 2016 en adelante

Abstract

RESUMEN : INTRODUCCIÓN: amiloidosis es un término que engloba varias enfermedades clasificadas según la proteína responsable de la formación del amiloide. La ATTR es la más frecuentemente diagnosticada en la actualidad, en buena medida gracias al desarrollo de métodos diagnósticos no invasivos y a la aparición de tratamientos dirigidos, un hecho que ha aumentado notablemente el interés por esta enfermedad. Pese a ello, tanto la prevalencia real como la historia natural de la enfermedad permanecen desconocidas. OBJETIVOS: el objetivo del trabajo es doble: por un lado, realizar una revisión bibliográfica de la amiloidosis y, por otro, realizar un análisis descriptivo de los pacientes con ATTR en Cantabria. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: revisión de publicaciones científicas mediante búsqueda en PubMed y posterior análisis retrospectivo de todos los pacientes con diagnóstico de ATTR en Cantabria a partir del año 2016. RESULTADOS: Descripción de las características demográficas y perfil clínico de los pacientes con diagnóstico de ATTR. Análisis de la historia natural de la enfermedad. CONCLUSIONES: perfil habitual del paciente con ATTR. Expectativas de la enfermedad de cara al futuro: diagnóstico y tratamiento.

ABSTRACT : INTRODUCTION: amyloidosis is a term that encompasses several diseases classified according to the protein responsible of the amyloid formation. The ATTR is the most frequently diagnosed nowadays, due to the development of noninvasive diagnosis methods and the apparition of specific treatments, which increases the interest for the disease. All in all, the prevalence and the natural history of the disease remain unknown. OBJECTIVES: there are two different objectives: on the one hand, making a bibliographic review of amyloidosis and, on the other hand, carrying out a descriptive analysis of ATTR patients in Cantabria. MATERIAL AND METHODS: revision of scientific publications in PubMed and retrospective analysis of all the patients with scintigraphic ATTR diagnosis in Cantabria since 2016. RESULTS: in the results, the information obtained in the database review is broken down. CONCLUSIONS: archetype of ATTR patient and views of the disease for the future. Diagnosis and treatment.
