dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: In industrial companies, the safety of the electrical equipment and the wellbeing of workers are of great importance. Both serious and minor personal injury can result, as well as damage to the faulty system parts. However, for both cases, it impacts on the company as a loss. One of the most dangerous faults that can occur in the electrical power system is the arc fault ue to the characteristic phenomena. Nowadays every industrial company must comply with safety norms and standards in its installations. The aim of this task is to check the accuracy of the existing methods for classifying electric arcs with measured data and to identify the appropriate protective measures to ensure that the electric arc does not cause any damage to equipment or people. In the first two chapters, the task introduces the objetives and justification of the task, including an explanation about the arc faults. Its impacts, causes, possible hazards and how to be protected against them. Chapter three summarises the different methods for assessing and classyfing arc faults. Then, proper methods for this task are selected as the basis for the work. The chapter four carried out the implementation of the chosen methods and gives a comparison and evaluation of the results with the measured data. The last chapter is the proper selection of the different protection systems for the arc faults, taking into account the properties and its limits of protective measures. | es_ES |
