The determination of the optical power coupled between two optical fibres is of great interest on the field of optical sensors for vibration measurement. This calculation can be done theoretically, but an experimental approach is wanted due to the poor correlation between the theory and the laboratory measures. A software package has been developed, that is able to measure the optical power coupled between the fibres at many different spatial points, using automated instrumentation. This application can also deal with the bulk measurements and extracts useful information for the optimal design of optical sensors based on fibre-displacement intensity modulation.es_ES
