Mirada hacia la casuística del accidente en la práctica de montaña: factores de riesgo y patología relacionada

Abstract

RESUMEN : La montaña se ha visto utilizada por el ser humano por diversos fines a lo largo de la historia, uno de ellos, la práctica deportiva. Sin embargo, en la actualidad el medio natural se ha convertido en un espacio abierto accesible para cualquier persona. Entre los diferentes impactos que esto ha producido encontramos un crecimiento económico, urbanístico y social muy importante que promueve el desarrollo del entorno mencionado. No obstante, también encontramos aspectos negativos como contaminación, masificación, degradación del entorno, transformación de los hábitos y costumbres del territorio, o el incremento de accidentes y/o rescates. Lo cual supone un elevado coste para la salud pública. Estudiando la patología de montaña, los accidentes y siniestros, se pueden llegar a conocer los factores que potencian la aparición de estos eventos. Se pueden dividir las causas, según el origen desencadenante y su impacto en el momento de la catástrofe para llegar a conocer el perfil del montañero rescatado. Para disminuir la incidencia es necesario extremar las medidas preventivas en las distintas actividades deportivas de montaña según compete al error humano, para así conseguir minimizar la cantidad tan significativa de accidentes y los numerosos costes que estos producen

ABSTRACT : The mountain has been used by humans for various purposes throughout history, one of them being the practice of sports. Nevertheless, nowadays, the natural environment has become an open space accessible to anyone. Among the different impacts that this has produced we find a huge economic, urbanistic and social growth which promotes the development in this environment. However, there are also negative aspects such as pollution, degradation of the environment, overcrowding, the transformation of habits and customs of the territory and the increase in accidents and/or rescues, which produces a high cost to our public healthcare system. Related with mountain pathologies, accidents and damages, we can find out the main factors that increase the emergence of those events. The causes can be dividided according to the triggering order and their impact at the moment of the catastrophe. It is necessary to maximize the preventive measures in the different mountain sports activities as far as human error is concerned in order to minimize the significant number of accidents and the numerous costs they produce.
