dc.description.abstract | The application of the Jones and pure Mueller calculus to optical circuits is presented. We have developed a simple method of analysis to derive steady-state transfer characteristics between input and output optical wave vectors, or powers formed from a variety of linear optical components. The analysis method is based on a functional block diagram description of the optical circuits. We have developed a computer program for such a simulation purpose that include matrix functions for some basic optical elements such as retardation wave plates, rotators, polarisers, and single-mode fibers under various disturbances. | es_ES |
