dc.description.abstract | We present the application of photonic crystal fibers (PCF) as sensors. For it will be studied the influence of the structural parameters in the fiber (period and hole diameter) with respect to its sensitivity. The effective index will be calculated for different values of these parameters with respect to the normalized frequency. We will have as a result the optimum values that should be used for this application. Finally in this paper, we will show how to use the results to achieve a sensor based on PCF as well as the measuring external parameters ought to influence over the fibre. | es_ES |
