Dependencia, discapacidad y temporalidad en el empleo

Abstract

RESUMEN: La inestabilidad laboral, con paro elevado e importante temporalidad, nos lleva a analizar qué características influyen en la probabilidad de desarrollar un empleo temporal dentro del grupo de personas con limitaciones. Los datos provienen de la Encuesta de discapacidades y atención a la dependencia (EDAD) de 2008. Se trata de mostrar cómo la temporalidad les afecta tanto o más que al total de la población activa, y por qué. El empleo temporal no sólo se ha de percibir como precario, sino que se ha de tener en cuenta que también se adapta a necesidades y situaciones extraordinarias de algunos trabajadores, in-cluidos aquellos con limitaciones.

ABSTRACT: Lack of job stability, with a high rate of unemployment and shortterm hiring, has led us to examine what characteristics affect the probability of being employed on a casual basis within the group of people with limitations. The data come from the Survey on Disability, Personal Autonomy and Dependency Situations (EDAD) of 2008. It is a case of showing how casual employment affects them as much or more than the work force as a whole and the reasons why. Temporary employment not only has to be seen as being of a precarious nature, but it also has to be taken into account that it is in keeping with the extraordinary needs and situations of some workers, including those with limitations.
