RESUMEN :
El secretoma de células madre mesenquimales (CMMs) está siendo investigado por su potencial terapéutico en múltiples patologías, dado que su uso supone una excelente alternativa a los tratamientos basados en el trasplante de CMMs. Los beneficios regenerativos aportados por el secretoma son los mismos que se obtienen del trasplante de CMMs, pero los efectos adversos son significativamente menores. La administración del secretoma ha demostrado efectos beneficiosos en prácticamente todos los estudios realizados hasta el momento. A lo largo de esta revisión, se introducirán los diferentes componentes del secretoma, así como información acerca de las técnicas necesarias para su posterior aplicación en la clínica hospitalaria en un futuro. Además, se destacará la importancia de un correcto pre-condionamiento del medio dependiendo de la patología a la que se quiera hacer frente en cada situación, ya que el objetivo es que el secretoma de CMMs se convierta en una terapia individualizada para cada enfermedad. Finalmente se mostrarán algunos ejemplos que han evidenciado el éxito de la aplicación delsecretoma de CMMs para el tratamiento de diferentes patologías que hoy en día no tienen cura definitiva, así como los mecanismos que lo hacen una técnica segura y eficaz.
ABSTRACT :
Mesenchymal stem cell´ (MSCs) secretome is being investigated for its therapeutic
potential in several pathologies, and because of the fact that it constitutes an excellent
alternative to treatments based on MSCs transplantation. The regenerative benefits
provided by the secretome are the same as those obtained from the transplantation of
MSCs, but the adverse effects are significantly reduced. The administration of the
secretome has shown beneficial effects in almost all the studies carried out to this date.
Throughout this review, the different components of the MSCs´secretome will be
introduced, as well as the information about some of the techniques needed for the
subsequent application of MSC secretome-based therapies in the future medical
practice. In addition, the importance of a correct MSC pre-conditioning depending on
the pathology that needs to be treated will be highlighted. The overall aim being that
MSCs´secretome could be used as an individualized therapy for each disease. Finally,
some examples of the potential success MSCs secretome-based application for the
treatment of different pathologies that have no definitive cure today will be shown, as
well as the mechanisms that make the secretome a safe and effective technique.
