Análisis de las estrategias de profilaxis del CMV en la población trasplantada renal del HUMV

Abstract

RESUMEN : La infección por CMV es una patología grave para el trasplantado renal. Aquellos pacientes que desarrollan enfermedad por CMV tienen más riesgo de rechazo del injerto y una menor supervivencia. Por ello, los hospitales tienen protocolos para prevenir y tratar la infección y enfermedad por CMV en trasplantados renales. En este trabajo, se ha realizado una revisión bibliográfica para conocer qué estrategias de profilaxis son las más habituales. Además, se ha analizado el protocolo de profilaxis de infección por CMV en trasplantados renales del Servicio de Nefrología del HUMV y se ha comparado con las estrategias más extendidas. Según los resultados analizados, existe un consenso nacional e internacional que establece una pauta de profilaxis estándar a seguir. No se han encontrado diferencias estadísticamente significativas entre la profilaxis realizada en el HUMV y los protocolos analizados en la literatura. La profilaxis utilizada en el HUMV no tiene una eficacia inferior a la profilaxis universal.

ABSTRACT : CMV infection is a serious complication for kidney transplant recipients. Patients who develop CMV disease have a higher risk of graft rejection and lower survival. Therefore, hospitals have protocols to prevent and treat CMV infection and disease in kidney transplant recipients. In this study, a literature review was carried out to find out which prophylaxis strategies are followed in hospitals around the world. In addition, the protocol for CMV infection prophylaxis in kidney transplant recipients in the HUMV Nephrology Department was analysed and compared with the strategies followed in other hospitals. According to the results analysed, there is a national and international consensus that establishes a standard prophylaxis guideline to be followed. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found between the prophylaxis carried out at HUMV and the rest of the hospitals analysed worldwide. The prophylaxis protocol used at HUMV is not less effective than universal prophylaxis.
