Análisis de costes de las autoridades portuarias españolas

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se analizan los costes totales y variables de las autoridades portuarias españolas a través de un conjunto de estimaciones econométricas. Estas estimaciones permiten estudiar si ha existido progreso tecnológico a lo largo del periodo estudiado (2010-2019). Por otro lado, en el trabajo se describen las principales características que afectan a la regulación del sistema portuario español tras los cambios que han tenido lugar en su legislación en las últimas décadas. Para ello se estiman tres modelos econométricos a partir de un panel de datos formado por 26 autoridades portuarias españolas observadas durante el periodo 2010-2019. Los principales resultados muestran que los costes totales y variables han aumentado durante el periodo observado, analizan los principales cambios en la economía portuaria y destacan las economías de escala como una oportunidad para mejorar la eficiencia.

ABSTRACT: In this study, the total and variable costs of the Spanish port authorities are analysed by a set of econometric estimates. These estimates make it possible to evaluate technological progress during the period studied (2010-2019). On the other hand, the main characteristics and changes in Spanish port regulation that have taken place in Spanish port legislation in the last decades are described. Thus, three econometric models are estimated from a data panel of 26 Spanish port authorities observed during the 2010-2019 period. The main results show that total and variable costs have increased during the observed period, analyse the main changes in the port economy and highlight economies of scale as an opportunity to improve efficiency.
