Educación para la sostenibilidad y enseñanza de la economía en secundaria: análisis de las percepciones y actitudes de un grupo de estudiantes

Abstract

RESUMEN El desarrollo sostenible está cobrando cada vez más fuerza en el mundo. Por ello, la educación para el desarrollo sostenible debe tratarse en todas las etapas educativas mediante la adquisición por parte del alumnado de una serie de competencias. De esta manera podrán poner en práctica su espíritu crítico y reflexivo, aportando posibles soluciones a los problemas económicos, sociales y medio ambientales que acontecen en todo el planeta. Este trabajo tiene como principal objetivo conocer las percepciones y actitudes que tiene el alumnado de secundaria sobre los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS). El trabajo parte de una revisión de la literatura donde se muestran los principales hechos históricos del desarrollo sostenible. Además, se introduce el desarrollo sostenible en el ámbito de la educación. Seguidamente, se realiza un cuestionario a un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria para conocer las percepciones y actitudes que tienen sobre los ODS. Posteriormente, se muestra la relación que guarda el desarrollo sostenible con (1) la economía y (2) el currículum de las asignaturas de Economía de 4º de la ESO y de 1º de Bachillerato. Finalmente, y tomando como referencia todo lo anterior, se plantea una actividad de enseñanza – aprendizaje para introducir los ODS en las asignaturas de Economía.

ABSTRACT Sustainable development becomes increasingly important in the world. For this reason, education for sustainable development should be addressed at all educational stages through the acquisition by students of a series of competencies. In this way, they will be able to put into practice their critical and reflective spirit, providing possible solutions to the main economic, social and environmental problems that occur throughout the planet. The main objective of this work is to find out which are the perceptions and attitudes of Secondary school students towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The work starts with a literature review where the main historical facts of sustainable development are shown. Then, a perspective on sustainable development in the field of education is introduced. This is followed by an analysis of a questionnaire on sustainable development which was answered by a group of Secondary school students to find out their perceptions and attitudes towards the SDGs. Afterwards, the relationship between sustainable development (1), economics (2) and the curriculum of the subject area ‘Economics’ of 4th year of ESO and 1st year of Bachillerato is shown. Finally, and taking all the above as a reference, a teaching-learning activity is proposed to introduce the SDGs in the subject area ‘Economics’.
