Cultura y contracultura en Cantabria (1975-1986)

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este trabajo se analiza el desarrollo cultural que experimentó la provincia de Santander durante la Transición (1975-1986), y si este se vio afectado al convertirse esta en una comunidad autónoma en 1981. Se prestará especial atención a estudiar tanto los procesos culturales más canónicos y académicos, como a otros, producto de la Movida desarrollados en la región. De la misma manera, este último fenómeno centrado en Madrid será abordado como telón de fondo, al igual que servirá como contexto el nuevo tratamiento que se otorgó a la cultura y a la gestión cultural desde el ámbito de la política durante la Transición, y cómo eso influyó en los creadores culturales y en los nuevos movimientos socioculturales. Las lecturas y las entrevistas orales realizadas para la elaboración de este TFM apuntan a que la progresiva importancia que tuvo el movimiento regionalista en la región, con un proceso político sui generis, así como la imagen cultural que se tenía en Santander de la ciudad, provocaron un desarrollo cultural con sus deficiencias y características exclusivas.

ABSTRACT: This work analyses the cultural development experienced by the province of Santander during the Spanish Transition (1975-1986), and whether this was affected when the province became an autonomous community in 1981. This work will heed to study both the more canonical and academic cultural processes, as well as others, the product of the Movida, which developed in the region. In the same way, this last phenomenon centred on Madrid will be dealt with as a backdrop and it will also serve as a context for the new treatment given to culture and cultural management in the political sphere during the Spanish Transition, and how this influenced cultural creators and the new socio-cultural movements. The readings and oral interviews carried out for the preparation of this work suggest that the progressive importance of the regionalist movement in the region, with a sui generis political process, as well as the cultural image that inhabitants of the city had of Santander, led to a cultural development with its failures and exclusive characteristics.
