La divulgación de información no financiera en España: análisis de las actividades más representativas según GRI

Abstract

RESUMEN: Cada vez son más las empresas que no solo presentan información financiera, sino que también dan a conocer la información no financiera basada en temas medioambientales, social y personal, derechos humanos, así como corrupción, soborno y sociedad. La finalidad de este estudio es evidenciar la importancia que tienen estos nuevos informes de sostenibilidad dentro de la economía española a través de los estándares principales de la base de datos GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). El análisis llevado a cabo determina que, a pesar de estar entre las cinco actividades con mayor aportación de información no financiera en España; los servicios de salud, servicios comerciales, construcción y energía siguen sin tener altos índices de aportación. Todavía queda mucho para que los inversores y la sociedad en su conjunto esté conforme con el grado de información no financiera aportado por las empresas.

ABSTRACT: More and more companies not only present financial information, but also disclose non-financial information based on environmental, social and personal issues, human rights, as well as corruption, bribery and society. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of these new sustainability reports within the Spanish economy through the main standards of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) database. The analysis carried out determines that, despite being among the five activities with the highest contribution of non-financial information in Spain, health services, commercial services, construction and energy continue to have low contribution rates. There is still a long way to go for investors and society as a whole to be satisfied with the degree of non-financial information provided by companies.
