Implementación de medidas de protección de un buque civil en el golfo de Guinea

Abstract

Estableciendo como objetivo principal la piratería marítima en el golfo de Guinea, este Trabajo Fin de Grado, aborda los temas de leyes, códigos y recomendaciones marítimas para la correcta y segura realización de planes de viaje a zona comprometida como es el Golfo de Guinea, aportando datos e información de la situación actual de la zona. Identificando las motivaciones por las que se miden los grupos terroristas de la región del Golfo de Guinea, a la vez que se localiza las zonas de mayor actividad delictiva como es Nigeria. La piratería marítima nace en este caso de inestabilidades sociales, culturales, económicas y territoriales, como llega un área de alta economía en reservas naturales de productos petrolíferos contrastando con la pobreza y desigualdad social y contaminación medioambiental a causa de la sobreexplotación de las producciones de petróleo en zonas como el Delta del Níger. Posteriormente, se ahonda en las medidas de protección necesarias aplicable a todo buque que quiera transitar el área del Golfo de Guinea de una forma segura tanto para su tripulación como para el buque. Comenzando con las medidas que se han de añadir al plan de viaje como los reportes a servicios de acción militar, y a continuación las medidas que se han de disponer a bordo para la protección del buque frente a la amenaza de un ataque pirata. La importancia de trabajar los ejercicios y familiarizarse con los planes de protección en caso de hacer frente a los grupos piratas que quieran sembrar el terror en tu propio buque. Concluyendo en que los estudios y experiencias preparan al buque y la tripulación para protegerse de futuras amenazas.

ABSTRACT:Establishing as the main objective the maritime piracy in the Gulf of Guinea. The aim of this Academic Essay to finish the Degree Studies is to address the issues of maritime laws, codes and recommendations for the right and safe implementation of passage planning to a compromised area such as the Gulf of Guinea, providing data and information about the current situation in the area. Identifying the justifications that the terrorists’ groups are looking for in the Gulf of Guinea, while locating the highest criminal activity areas such as Nigeria. Maritime piracy arises in this case from social, cultural, economic and territorial instabilities, such as the high economical area in natural reserves of oil products in contrast with the poverty and social inequality and environmental pollution due to the overexploitation of the oil production areas like the Niger Delta. Subsequently, this study focus on the protection measures applicable to any ship that want to transit the area of the Gulf of Guinea in a safe way for both its crew and the ship. Starting with the measures that have to been added to the passage plan such as the reports to military action services, and then the measures to be available on board in order to protect the ship against the threat of a pirate attack. The strong importance of working on the exercises and the familiarization with the security plans in case of face up with pirate groups that want to spread the panic. Concluding that the studies and experiences prepare the ship and the crew to protect themselves from future threats
