Educación para el Desarrollo. Aproximación y propuestas para la Educación Secundaria

Abstract

RESUMEN La Educación para el Desarrollo (EpD) tiene su origen en la Cooperación Internacional. Sin embargo, ha ido evolucionando y emancipándose hasta llegar a conformarse como un enfoque educativo singular, con unas dimensiones, principios y contenidos propios. En este proceso, la EpD se ha apoyado en una serie de marcos de referencia, principalmente legales y pedagógicos, que han justificado la pertinencia de su inclusión en la Educación Formal. Así, la aplicación de la EpD como un enfoque educativo tiene cabida en las aulas de Secundaria, especialmente en la asignatura de Geografía e Historia, cuyos contenidos son indispensables para comprender el mundo actual y sus desafíos y adquirir una actitud responsable y crítica en la sociedad. En este texto se pretende realizar un estado de la cuestión acerca de la EpD y lanzar algunas propuestas que puedan ser útiles para llevarlo a las aulas de Cantabria.

ABSTRACT Development Education (DE) has its origin in International Cooperation. However, it has evolved and emancipated itself until it became a singular educational approach, with its own dimensions, principles and content. In this process, the DE has relied on a series of reference frameworks, mainly legal and pedagogical, which have been justifying the relevance of its inclusion in Formal Education. Thus, the application of DE as an educational approach has a place in Secondary classrooms, especially in Geography and History subject, whose contents are essential to understand the current world and its challenges and acquire a responsible and critical attitude in the society. In this text it is intended to make a state of the question about DE and to launch some proposals that may be useful to bring it to the classrooms of Cantabria.
