Los otros de los otros: menores extranjeros no acompañados en la Educación Secundaria en Cantabria

Abstract

RESUMEN: La evolución del proceso migratorio desde hace varios años ha experimentado diversos cambios, donde menores no acompañados se han incorporado al proceso. Chicos y chicas llegan a nuestro país desprovistos de acompañantes adultos responsables. Su llegada se ha ido incrementando y su objetivo es lograr un futuro económico en nuestro país. Sus edades son variadas, pero tienen en común que: son menores, están solos, son migrantes, carecen de redes de apoyo estables y se mueven en la incertidumbre. Este TFM trata de profundizar en la respuesta educativa que reciben una vez están instalados en nuestro país, en concreto en la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria. Muchos son adolescentes y como menores tienen derecho a una educación, ¿qué ocurre con ellos en este aspecto de su vida? ¿Qué conocimiento se tiene de su realidad en los centros educativos? ¿Qué orientación académica se les ofrece? ¿Qué recursos se movilizan? ¿Qué barreras se encuentran en el camino? ¿Y apoyos? Estas y otras preguntas han guiado el proceso de construcción de este trabajo que pretende hacer una llamada de atención desde el ámbito educativo.

ABSTRACT: The evolution of the migration process over the last few years has seen a changes, where unaccompanied children have joined the process. Boys and girls arrive in our country unaccompanied by responsible adults. Their arrival has been increasing and their objective is to achieve an economic stable future in our country. Their ages are varied, but they have in common that they are minors, they are alone, they are migrants, they lack stable support networks and they move in uncertainty. This Master's Dissertation attempts to delve into a part of their reality once they are settled in our country, specifically, in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria. Many of them are adolescents and, as minors, they have the right to an education. What happens to them in this aspect of their lives? What knowledge is there of their reality in educational centres? What academic guidance is offered to them? What tools are mobilised? What barriers are encountered along the way? What support is available? These types of questions have guided the process of constructing this study, which aims to draw attention to them from the educational sphere.
