Propuesta de ruta mitológica por Cantabria

Abstract

RESUMEN: Hoy en día, muchas zonas están intentando crear productos turísticos para satisfacer las nuevas demandas turísticas y competir con otros destinos. La mitología puede jugar un papel importante como recurso turístico, agregar valor a la experiencia turística y aumentar el atractivo de los destinos, además de dar la visibilidad, importancia y protección que este patrimonio inmaterial se merece. En este sentido, Cantabria es una tierra llena de mitos y leyendas. El objetivo de este Trabajo de Fin de Grado es resaltar su papel e importancia, ya que puede suponer un aliciente más a la hora de atraer y acoger turistas en Cantabria, y crear una ruta incluyendo muchos de los recursos mitológicos que Cantabria puede ofrecer. Además, se hace una descripción general de leyendas y seres mitológicos así como de los lugares donde pueden “ser vistos”. Para conseguir estos objetivos, el estudio se centrará en la información obtenida a través de una entrevista a un profesional del sector y de una encuesta online. Con la información recabada, se presentarán conclusiones y propuestas que se podrían llevar a cabo encaminadas a atraer más visitantes a aquellos lugares donde puedan conocer y disfrutar la mitología cántabra.

ABSTRACT: Nowadays, many areas are trying to create tourism products to meet new tourist demands and to compete with other destinations. Mythology can play an important role as a tourism resource, add value to the tourist experience and increase the attractiveness of destinations in addition to giving the visibility, importance and protection that this intangible heritage deserves. In this sense, Cantabria is a land filled with many traditional myths and legends. The aim of this undergraduate dissertation is to underline their role and importance, as it can add another incentive when attracting and welcoming tourists to the region, and create a route including many of the mythological resources that Cantabria can offer. The study also gives an overview of Cantabrian mythical creatures and legends as well as the places where they can be “seen”. The means to achieve these objectives will be focused on the information derived from an interview with a professional working in this sector and an online survey. Conclusions and proposals will be presented in the light of the information gathered, the latter aimed at attracting more visitors to those places where they can learn about and enjoy Cantabrian mythology.
