Asma: características generales y educación sanitaria

Abstract

RESUMEN: El asma es una enfermedad crónica con una prevalencia en aumento y con un cuadro sintomatológico muy amplio. Durante la infancia, cobra especial importancia por la carga que ocasiona sobre los familiares y los costes que genera al sistema sanitario. A lo largo del texto se revisarán aspectos generales de la patología como pueden ser la clínica, los distintos tipos de diagnósticos y el tratamiento de elección. El asma se presenta como un problema de salud pública dado el alcance que tiene y por tanto tendrá asociados una serie de factores de riesgo que predisponen para el desarrollo o empeoramiento del asma. Se dividirán en factores del propio paciente o ambientales. Por último, se analizará el papel de la enfermería en el transcurso de la enfermedad; con la importancia de la educación sanitaria para el control del asma por parte del paciente. Se desarrollará un prototipo de plan de cuidados en un debut asmático

ABSTRACT: Asthma is a chronic disease with an increasing prevalence and with many symptoms. During childhood, it takes on special importance because it causes family overload and the costs it generates for the health system. Throughout the text, general aspects of the pathology will be reviewed, such as the clinic, the different types of diagnosis and the treatment of choice. Asthma is presented as a public health problem given its scope and therefore will have associated a series of risk factors that predispose to the development or worsening of asthma. They will be divided into patient or environmental factors. Finally, the role of nursing in the course of the disease will be analyzed; with the importance of health education starts the control of asthma by the patient. A prototype nursing care plan for an asthmatic debut will be developed
