La mujer y el sexismo en Disney

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo se propone poner de manifiesto la imagen que Disney ha ido generando en la sociedad occidental acerca de la mujer, el sexismo y los valores sociales. Se trata de discernir qué roles, estereotipos, actitudes y aptitudes ensalza en sus largometrajes como ideales a alcanzar, que luego la infancia integra en su construcción de valores. A lo largo del estudio de tres películas de Disney (Blancanieves, La Bella y la Bestia y Vaiana) se observa una dudosa evolución de los valores que se transmiten. Para ello, se analizan los personajes y escenarios con sus diálogos, de manera que otorguen una visión amplia y objetiva de los elementos presentes en los largometrajes.

ABSTRACT: The aim of this Final Degree Project is to highlight the image that Disney has been generating in Western societies about women, sexism and social values. The specific purpose is to discern which roles, stereotypes, attitudes and aptitudes are promoted by Disney films as ideals to be achieved, which are then integrated by children in the construction of their values. Throughout the study of three Disney films (Whitesnow, Beauty and the Beast and Moana), a dubious evolution of the values transmitted is observed. To this end, the characters, scenarios and their dialogues are analysed in order to provide a broad and objective view of the elements present in those films.
