RESUMEN: El presente trabajo de investigación se ha centrado en el estudio del funcionamiento de la Red europea Natura 2000, encargada de la conservación de especies y hábitats en los espacios naturales. Como objeto del estudio, se ha seleccionado el espacio natural de la Sierra de Leyre, en Navarra, por su situación geográfica y la gran variedad de fauna y flora del lugar. A lo largo del trabajo se analizan los recursos culturales y naturales que rodean a la Sierra de Leyre, sus características territoriales, la oferta y demanda potencial y sus perspectivas turísticas.
ABSTRACT: This research work has focused on the study of the functioning of the European Natura 2000 Network, responsible for the conservation of species and habitats in natural areas. As the object of the study, the natural area of the Sierra de Leyre, in Navarra, has been selected due to its geographical location and the great variety of fauna and flora of the place. Throughout the work, the cultural and natural resources surrounding the Sierra de Leyre, its territorial characteristics, the potential supply and demand and its tourist prospects are analyzed.
