El mountain bike en el norte de España

Abstract

En este Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) se ha presentado la situación actual del turismo de mountain bike (MTB) en el norte de España e incluye un breve estudio comparativo de tres empresas dedicadas a esta actividad con sede en tres comunidades autónomas distintas. Entre otros aspectos, se ha presentado la trayectoria de esta actividad sostenible y se han analizado las diferentes modalidades de mountain bike y sus impactos tanto económicos como sociales y medioambientales. Por una parte, se ha realizado este estudio mediante la recogida de datos procedentes de fuentes secundarias y, por otra parte, se ha llevado a cabo una encuesta-cuestionario para intentar conocer más a fondo el nicho de mercado que podría ser el público meta de esta actividad. Además, la investigación ha sido informada por entrevistas a profesionales del sector objeto de estudio, que dan una visión personal y profesional de este sector en auge. Finalmente, se han elaborado conclusiones y propuestas a raíz de la investigación realizada.

The main objective of this undergraduate dissertation is to present the current situation of mountain bike (MTB) tourism in the north of Spain and include a brief comparative study of three companies from three different northern autonomous communities. In addition to other aspects, this study traces the history of this sustainable pursuit and analyses its economic, social and environmental impacts. The research has been carried out gathering information from secondary sources as well as through the carrying out of a survey aimed at identifying the market niche that could provide the target customers for this leisure activity. Furthermore, the study has been enriched by the conducting of interviews to professionals within the sector under study, who provide a personal and professional vision of this currently buoyant sector. Finally, conclusions are presented, and proposals are put forward in the light of the research undertaken.
