RESUMEN: La sostenibilidad es un hecho. Esta palabra se ha ido incorporando en todos los sectores gracias a la concienciación que ha habido en varios países por el importante daño que se hace al medioambiente a través de las actividades que realizan las empresas.
El turismo no es menos y es por ello que, dentro de su actividad, la industria hotelera ha querido colaborar mejorando sus servicios y realizando importantes cambios que van desde acciones sencillas, como cambiar amenities en los servicios de las habitaciones, a acciones en la construcción y rehabilitación de los propios edificios adaptándolos con materiales específicos como aislamientos, haciendo más eficientes las energías renovables, y contribuyendo con la reducción de la huella de carbono.
En este trabajo se mostrarán los distintos materiales y formas de construcción de cara a la realización de un establecimiento hotelero y a la rehabilitación de hoteles existentes, así como el impacto que tiene este modelo de construcción en la estructura interna de la empresa hotelera y en su economía. Además, se han realizado dos entrevistas a profesionales del sector.
ABSTRACT: Sustainability is a fact. This word has been incorporated in all sectors thanks to the awareness that has been in several countries about the significant damage done to the environment through the activities carried out by companies.
Tourism is no less and that is why, within its activity, the hotel industry has wanted to collaborate by improving its services and making important changes that range from simple actions, such as changing toiletries in bathrooms, to actions in construction and restoration of the buildings themselves, adapting them with specific materials such as insulation, making renewable energies more efficient, and contributing to the reduction of the carbon footprint.
This undergraduate dissertation will show the different materials and ways of construction for the creation of a hotel establishment and the restoration of existing hotels, as well as the impact that this construction model has on the internal structure of the hotel company and on its financial performance. In addition, two interviews have been conducted with professionals in the sector.
