ONGs y turismo solidario en Santander

Abstract

RESUMEN: El presente proyecto realiza un recorrido por la historia y evolución de las ONGs en el mundo hasta nuestros días y su relación con el turismo solidario. Así mismo se hace una pequeña introducción a la cooperación al desarrollo y a su importancia en el trabajo de las ONGs. Para comprender mejor todo ello se han tomado de ejemplo las ONGs que se encuentran en la ciudad de Santander y se ha analizado el trabajo que desempeñan, centrando la atención en aquellas que realizan turismo solidario o cuentan con programas de voluntariado internacional. Dado que esta tipología de turismo todavía no está muy difundida, al final del trabajo se propone un proyecto en el que se pretende que las dos estructuras principales en este campo de trabajo, ONGs y agencias, trabajen conjuntamente para contribuir al desarrollo de los países sin recursos mejorando la calidad de vida de sus habitantes.

ABSTRACT: This project deals with the history and evolution of the NGO’s in the world and their relationship with solidarity tourism. Likewise it provides an overview of development aid and its important work concerning NGOs. To get a better understanding about this matter, we have used as example the work of NGOs in Santander, analyzing what type of work they execute, focusing on those that carry out programs solidarity programmes or have some programmes for international volunteering. Given that this kind of tourism is not highly widespread, at the end of this project, the possibility of creating an enterprise in which both NOG’s and travel agencies will work together is explored, in order to support development aid improve the quality of life for people in developing countries.
