Importancia de la población civil en la conservación del patrimonio: Asociación amigos del patrimonio de Laredo

Abstract

RESUMEN: En España tenemos un enorme Patrimonio cuya protección no se debe dejar solo en manos de las Instituciones, la sociedad civil debe valorar el Patrimonio legado por nuestros antepasados y para lograr este objetivo, es fundamental la concienciación social ya que no se protege lo que no se valora y no se valora lo que no se conoce. La labor de la diferentes Asociaciones en defensa del mismo, es primordial para que todos podamos formar parte de esta tarea de protección. En la localidad de Laredo existe una asociación que ayuda a dar a conocer, valorar y proteger su rico Patrimonio e historia que, como veremos en este estudio, su existencia es necesaria para evitar que la Puebla Vieja acabe convirtiéndose en un mero recuerdo.

ABSTRACT: Spain has a huge heritage whose protection should not only be handed over to Institutions; civil society must value the heritage bequeathed by our forebears. With this aim, social awareness is of fundamental importance as we don't protect what we don't value, and we don't value what we don't know. It is of paramount significance the work of different associations which defend the heritage, so that everybody could take part in the task of protecting it. There is an association in the village of Laredo which makes known, value and protect its rich heritage and history. As we shall see through this study, its existence is vital to prevent Laredo's Old Town becoming just a mere memory.
