Estructura de la oferta de establecimientos de alojamiento turístico y de restaurantes en el litoral de la comarca Asón-Agüera de Cantabria

Abstract

RESUMEN: El turismo cumple un papel relevante y dinamizador en nuestra comunidad autónoma, así lo vemos en los datos del PIB o del INE. Uno de los aspectos que constituye un destino turístico son las infraestructuras y entre éstas se encuentra la oferta de alojamientos y restaurantes, los que funcionan como estimuladores de demanda; para ello el turista necesita información, la principal razón para realizar este trabajo. El litoral de la comarca Asón- Agüera constituye una de las zonas más turísticas de Cantabria, formado por dos villas milenarias, una de ellas, Laredo, tuvo un gran apogeo turístico y fue conocida como la perla de la costa esmeralda o el Benidorm del norte. Este territorio conforma la zona bajo estudio. En el estudio no sólo se analiza la estructura de la oferta de alojamientos y restaurantes según los datos de la Dirección general de turismo de Cantabria y el ICANE, sino que se lleva a cabo un trabajo de campo para obtener información actualizada sobre la oferta real, con el fin de determinar las características de esta oferta y conocer los puntos fuertes y débiles de ésta y aportar información útil a consumidores y empresarios.

ABSTRACT: The tourism industry plays a relevant and dynamic role in our autonomous community, as we can see it in the information provided by the GDP or in the NSI data. One of the aspects that makes a tourist destination are the infrastructures and among these ones we find the offer in accommodation and catering, which work as an encouragement for the demand. For that reason, tourists need information, being the aim of this work. The coast line of the Asón-Agüera region is one of the most touristic places of Cantabria, formed by two ancient towns, one of them, Laredo, which had a peak in terms of tourism and it was known as the pearl of the Emerald coast or the Benidorm of the north of Spain. This territory constitutes the area under study. Not only the study analyses the structure of the offer of accommodation and restaurants according to the data from the department of tourism of Cantabria and the Cantabria Institute of Statistics, but also field research is carried out to obtain updated information on the real deal, in order to establish the characteristics of this offer, know the strengths and weaknesses of the same and provide useful information to consumers and entrepreneurs.
