RESUMEN: El cambio en las preferencias de los turistas ha favorecido el crecimiento de nuevos tipos de turismo que ofrezcan experiencias diferentes y que favorezcan el medio ambiente. En el presente trabajo se analizará el turismo de bicicleta en Cantabria, teniendo en cuenta las características que favorecen su realización y las aportaciones por parte de la administración pública para su desarrollo. Además, se mostrarán los avances de otros países para concienciar a la población de los beneficios que ofrece el uso de la bicicleta, no solo a nivel medioambiental, sino también aporta ventajas para la salud.
ABSTRACT: The change in the preferences of tourists has favored the growth of new types of tourism that offer different experiences and that favor the environment. In the present work the bicycle tourism in Cantabria will be analyzed, taking into account the characteristics that favor it is realization, besides the contributions by the public administration for it is development. In addition, the progress of other countries will be shown to raise awareness of the benefits of bicycle use, not only environmentally, but also brings health benefits.
