RESUMEN: El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado trata sobre el impacto que tiene el terrorismo internacional, especialmente de ideología yihadista, en un destino turístico tras haber sufrido un atentado, dado que, en los últimos años, occidente se ha visto muy perjudicado por estos acontecimientos.
En primer lugar, se muestra una introducción sobre el concepto de terrorismo y como afecta a la economía de un país, formas de terrorismo, principales grupos terroristas, entre otros. Además, se investiga el por qué el turismo es un blanco fácil para el terrorista. En los capítulos, se hace un análisis de los atentados más importantes de los últimos años, que han tenido gran repercusión mediática y social, y la variación turística que han sufrido, ya que se ha dañado la imagen que tienen los turistas en cuanto a la seguridad de un destino. Se identifican los destinos que han salido favorecidos en la actividad turística a causa de los atentados, así como las estrategias de marketing que han utilizado los países afectados para volver a posicionar el destino turístico en el mercado. Por último, a través de una encuesta realizada a nivel nacional e internacional, se observa la reacción de posibles viajeros a la hora de realizar un viaje.
ABSTRACT: This undergraduate dissertation studies the post-attack impact on tourists and tourist destinations of international terrorism, especially that driven by Jihadist ideology. This topic is clearly of great current relevance given that in recent years the West has been severely affected by such events. First of all, an introduction is given to the concept of terrorism and how it may affect a country's economy, including brief reference to the different types of terrorism and the major terrorist groups. The reason why the tourist industry is such an easy target for terrorists is also explored, whilst an analysis is made of the most important attacks in recent history that have received substantial media coverage and caused major social repercussions. This study identifies both the destinations that have benefited in terms of tourism activity due to the attacks and the marketing strategies employed by the countries hit by terrorism to reposition themselves within the existing tourist market. The variation in tourist influx that these destinations have suffered given the potential tourists’ perception of growing insecurity is likewise highlighted. Finally, through the conducting of an international survey the degree to which terrorist attacks impact on travel destination choice is analysed.
