Abstract

RESUMEN: En este Trabajo de fin de Grado (TFG) se examina la evolución de la gran hotelería de lujo, concretamente en Francia, y como, frente a la competencia tan fuerte que ha sufrido con países de Oriente Medio, Asia y América, ha sido capaz de reinventarse, creando una nueva figura, una nueva distinción en la clasificación hotelera francesa, mas allá de los cinco estrellas, los Palaces. En este estudio voy a mostrar que hoteles gozan de este label, así como los requisitos técnicos y los criterios cualitativos que se deben cumplir para formar parte de este conjunto de hoteles de excepción. Al final desarrollaré unas reflexiones sobre el éxito y el prestigio que han adquirido estos establecimientos hoteleros desde la obtención de la distinción PALACE, así como su repercusión positiva en el cuadro económico y social.

ABSTRACT: This End of Course Project, examines the evolution of the large luxury hotel industry, specifically in France, and how, in the face of such strong competition with countries in the Middle East, Asia and America, it has been able to reinvent itself, creating a new figure, a new distinction in the French hotel classification, beyond the five stars, the Palaces. In this study, I will show which hotels enjoy this label, as well as the technical requirements and qualitative criteria that they must meet to be part of this set of exceptional hotels. At the end I will develop some reflections on the success and prestige that these hotels have acquired since obtaining the PALACE distinction, as well as their positive impact on the economic and social situation.
