Viaducto de Montabliz

Abstract

RESUMEN. El presente artículo describe el diseño, proyecto y construcción del Viaducto de Montabliz, que permite el paso de la Autovía de la Meseta sobre el valle del río Bisueña en la provincia de Cantabria. Sus 130 m de altura de pila, la mayor de España y entre las 6 mayores de Europa, sus 175 m de luz en el vano central, construidos mediante la técnica de avance en voladizo, y el diseño de su sección transversal, resuelta mediante cajón único para las dos calzadas, con anchura de plataforma de 26.1 m, hacen de la solución proyectada una estructura muy singular.

ABSTRACT. The article describes the design, planning and construction of the Montabliz Viaduct which takes the Meseta Motorway over the valley of the River Bisueña in the province of Cantabria. The viaduct has a pier height of 130 m pier making it the highest in Spain and among the six highest in Europe, and this together with its 175 m long central span, built by cantilevered construction, and the design of the cross-section in single box form for the two roadways, with a platform width of 26.1 m, all make this a unique structure.
