Las organizaciones internacionales europeas que dieron lugar a la UE siempre han tenido la intención de crecer. Sin embargo, ese crecimiento no se ha producido a cualquier precio y la UE ha ido incrementando los requisitos necesarios para poder llegar a ser un Estado Miembro, tanto a nivel democrático como económico. La forma de llevar a cabo las negociaciones también ha variado, siendo en el actual procedimiento de adhesión complejo y compuesto por fases distintas que requieren pronunciamiento tanto de los organismos europeos como de los gobiernos nacionales. La primera alianza europea se produjo en 1952 con la formación de la Comunidad Europea del Carbón y del Acero, la cual estaba formada por 6 Estados miembros, 68 años después la Unión Europea, una organización internacional distinta a la anterior pero que persigue el mismo objetivo de unificar a todos los Estados europeos, está compuesta por 27 Estados miembros y en proceso de recibir a nuevos Estados. Algunas de las ampliaciones en curso suponen un gran desafío tanto para la UE cómo para los candidatos, así que es importante que ambas partes hagan esfuerzos para llegar al objetivo final de la unificación europea.
Abstract: The European international organizations that gave birth to the EU have always had the intention of growing. However, this growth has not occurred at any given price and the EU has been increasing the necessary requirements to become a Member State, both democratically and economically. The way of carrying out the negotiations has also varied, with the current accession procedure being complex and made up of different phases that require pronouncement from both the European organizations and the national governments. The first European alliance took place in 1952 with the formation of the European Coal and Steel Community, which was made up of 6 member states, 68 years later the European Union, an international organization different from the previous one but pursuing the same objective. to unify all European states, it is made up of 27 member states and it is in the process of welcoming new states. Some of the enlargements underway pose a great challenge for both the EU and the candidates, so it is important that both parties make efforts to reach the final goal of European unification.
