RESUMEN:
Introducción: La diabetes mellitus puede dar lugar a la aparición de úlceras en numerosas ocasiones. Esto es debido a la afectación de la enfermedad diabética sobre vasos, nervios y tejido epitelial. Debido a la patología de los pacientes esto puede provocarles complicaciones importantes. El déficit sostenido de oxígeno tiene un impacto perjudicial en la curación de heridas, especialmente para pacientes con úlceras de pie diabético, existen diferentes terapias complementarias como la terapia de oxígeno hiperbárico que consiste en respirar oxígeno en una cámara a presión entre 2-3 ATM con lo cual va a favorecer la cicatrización de la herida.
Objetivos: Analizar y conocer la influencia que tiene la oxigenoterapia hiperbárica junto al tratamiento convencional en el tratamiento de las úlceras del pie diabético, describir la relación existente entre ambos métodos y evaluar el impacto económico que genera sobre el sistema sanitario.
Metodología: Estudio experimental aleatorizado (ensayo clínico aleatorio), doble ciego y multicéntrico que se lleva a cabo para evaluar la eficacia de la oxigenoterapia hiperbárica en el tratamiento de las úlceras del pie diabético frente al tratamiento habitual.
Plan de trabajo: Se divide en diferentes partes. Elaboración del proyecto de investigación. Presentación y solicitud al comité de ética de Almería. Posteriormente, se presenta dicho proyecto a los distintos centros de salud del Distrito Costa del Sol, se hace un reclutamiento de participantes, una recogida de datos y su posterior análisis. Para finalizar, se presentará la investigación y se divulgarán los resultados.
ABSTRACT:
Introduction: Diabetes mellitus can cause ulcers on numerous occasions. This is due to the affectation of diabetic disease on vessels, nerves and epithelial tissue. Due to the pathology of the patients, this can cause important complications. The sustained oxygen deficit has a detrimental impact on wound healing, especially for patients with diabetic foot ulcers; there are different complementary therapies such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy that consists of breathing oxygen in a pressure chamber among 2-3 ATM that it will promote wound healing.
Objectives: Analyze and know the influence that hyperbaric oxygen therapy has together with conventional treatment in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers, describe the relationship between both methods and evaluate the economic impact it generates on the health system.
Material and Methods: Randomized experimental study (randomized clinical trial), double blind and multicenter carried out to evaluate the efficacy of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers versus the usual treatment
Workplan: It is divided into different parts. Preparation of the research project. Presentation and request to the Almería ethics committee. Subsequently, this project is presented to the different health centers of the Costa del Sol District, a recruitment of participants is made, a data collection and its subsequent analysis. Finally, the investigation will be presented and the results will be disclosed.
