Los primeros empleos y ocupaciones femeninas en el siglo XIX en Castro Urdiales

Abstract

RESUMEN: El objetivo de este proyecto final de grado es acercarnos un poco más a los trabajos que tenían las mujeres de principios del siglo XIX en Castro Urdiales. Por lo tanto, estamos interesados en conocer las opciones de trabajo que tenían, la edad de estas mujeres, su estatus social, su origen y las circunstancias que ocurrieron en ese momento, debido a los constantes cambios en la economía y las frecuentes adaptaciones debido a las guerras y enfermedades. Para obtener estas características destacadas, hemos analizado textos de la historia de España, Cantabria y Castro Urdiales. Los datos más específicos han sido posibles gracias a un censo de Castro Urdiales llevado a cabo en 1824, que nos ha permitido alcanzar las conclusiones que estábamos buscando sobre los trabajos realizados por las mujeres de la época.

ABSTRACT: The objective of this final degree project is to get a little closer to the jobs that the women of the early nineteenth century had in Castro Urdiales. Therefore, we are interested in knowing the job options they had, the age of these women, their social status, their origin and the circumstances that occurred at that time, set in the constant changes in the economy and the frequent adaptations due to the wars and diseases. In order to get these great features we have analyzed texts from the history of Spain, Cantabria and Castro Urdiales. The most specific data has been possible thanks to a census carried out in 1824 of Castro Urdiales, which has allowed us to achieve the conclusions we were looking for regarding the jobs performed by women of the time.
