Educación para la sostenibilidad en economía y percepciones del alumnado de secundaria sobre el cambio climático

Abstract

RESUMEN El cambio climático es ya una realidad que preocupa a millones de personas alrededor de todo el mundo, especialmente a los jóvenes. Para poder hacer frente a esta crisis climática es importante actuar desde diferentes ámbitos de la sociedad, especialmente desde la educación. Tradicionalmente esta problemática ha sido abordada desde el área de las ciencias naturales, sin embargo, las ciencias sociales, y en particular, la asignatura de Economía tiene mucho que aportar al respecto. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es conocer las percepciones del alumnado de secundaria sobre el cambio climático, de forma que sirva para reflexionar sobre cómo introducirlo en la programación de Economía de 1º de Bachillerato. Como paso previo se hace una revisión bibliográfica para conocer la evolución del desarrollo sostenible y para entender cómo la educación ambiental se ha ido introduciendo en el sistema educativo. Los resultados de la investigación muestran que el alumnado siente que tiene falta de información sobre lo que implica este fenómeno, pero sabe apreciar la conexión que existe entre la economía y el cambio climático, lo cual, pone en evidencia la necesidad de introducir esta temática en la programación de Economía.

ABSTRACT Climate change is already a reality that worries millions of people around the world, specially young people. In order to face this climate crisis it is important to act from different sociality fields, primarily from education. Traditionally, this problem has been addressed from the natural sciences area, however, the social sciences, and particularly, the Economics subject has several thigs to contribute in that regard. The main aim of this paper is to recognize the perceptions that secondary students have about climate change in order that it serves to reflect about how to introduce climate change in High School Economics program. As a previous step, a bibliographic review is made to know the evolution of sustainable development and to understand how environmental education has been introduced in the educational system. The final results of this research show that students feel that they have lack of information about what this phenomenon implies, but at the same time they know how to appreciate the connection that exists between the economy and climate change, which highlights the need to introduce this topic within the Economic programming.
