Mulán y Hércules, dos narrativas con un mismo desenlace

Abstract

RESUMEN: Este trabajo surge a raíz de las críticas realizadas a las películas de las princesas Disney por los estereotipos machistas que siguen, así como por las críticas donde se reflejan cambios perjudiciales en las historias de distintas culturas en las que se basa Disney para hacer sus películas. Con el motivo de afirmar o desmentir dichas críticas, este documento refleja un análisis comparativo de las películas Mulán (1998) y Hércules (1997), ya que pertenecen a culturas ajenas y muestran una narrativa similar. A pesar de que en ambas películas culminan como héroes y cuentan con escenas y personajes similares, el viaje es distinto. Por ello, el trabajo analiza si se ha hecho un progreso en transmitir un mensaje feminista. Finalmente, se analiza si el mensaje que transmiten es adecuado para los pequeños teniendo en cuenta los aspectos anteriormente mencionados, para lo cual se propone una alternativa que hace un uso educativo de estas películas para fomentar un desarrollo emocional óptimo en los niños.

ABSTRACT: This work stems from criticism of Disney princesses movies for the sexist stereotypes that follow, as well as criticisms reflecting damaging changes in the stories of different cultures on which Disney relies to make its films. In order to affirm or deny such criticism, this document reflects a comparative analysis of the films Mulan (1998) and Hercules (1997), because they belong to other people's cultures and show a similar narrative. Although both films culminate as héroes and feature similar scenes and characters, the journey is different. Therefore, the work looks at whether progress has been made in conveying a feminist message. Finally, it is analyzed whether the message they transmit is suitable for the Little ones taking into account the aspects mentioned above. for which an alternative is proposed that makes educational use of these films to encourage optimal emotional development in children.
